Fashion and Beauty Panelists
In its fifth year, Fashion Week San Diego (FWSD) is a celebration of emerging haute couture. The celebration gets started with a little education from the experts at "The Art and Beauty Behind Fashion" panel. San Diego TV host Jeff Krapf will moderate four industry specialists, who will give tips and answer questions about beauty including make-up, hair, and nails. They come from MUC, Wella, and CND Nails. Other fun, informative panels will address the relationship between beauty and fashion, and include reps from TRE Boutique, Bellus Academy, and FIDM. Finally, be sure to check out the work of local artists in the show "RAW: Natural Born Artists." Ticketholders will get a chance to paint their own original art at "Launch Live Art." It’ll be displayed for all of Fashion Week, and auctioned off at the end.
On the FWSD Runway and Beyond
What is a fashion week without runway shows? Participants will be treated to shows on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. One ticket gets you into all of them (plus the Wednesday evening panels and the Trunk Show). On the runway, you’ll see the debut of 25 up-and-coming fashion designers. Friday night also features adoptable dogs from Rancho Coastal Humane Society, who hope to go to their "forever home" after the show. On Saturday, the emerging designer who has received the most audience votes will be announced. This special fashionista will receive a business package to help further the dreams of launching his or her own label. On Sunday, be sure to attend the Trunk Show. This is your chance to get up close to these runway fashions-and maybe even buy them for your own collection! Be sure to book your room at the Bristol Hotel if you are attending this event as soon as possible!
