More than 1.5 million visitors make their way to San Diego for its largest annual festival, the San Diego County Fair. The theme, “Game On!” chronicles the history of games throughout the years, including classics such as Monopoly and Dominos.
This year's event, held from June 8th to July 4th, promises to have fun and games for the whole family, ranging from classic games to game shows. Takea spin at the 10-foot Monopoly board, or play with larger-than-life versions of Chess and Dominos.
Resident historian Wayne Saunders will even provide a guided tour about gaming history, or if you're a trekkie, make sure to visit "Journey to the Stars," a Star Wars exhibit that encompasses some of the most memorable missions.
Although it's been a long-standing tradition to deep-fry just about anything and everything, the fair also features cheesy bacon bombs, chicken and waffles, bacon beer, and more. Parents can also enjoy happy hour from 5 to 7 p.m. throughout the week for $2 off draft beers, wines, and cocktails.
Purchase a season pass for $24 for a summer of fun in southern California, and come join the city in its celebration of the annual San Diego County Fair.
