Explore the culture of San Diego’s flagship art district at the eighth annual ArtWalk San Diego. This year, the event has moved from the Bay to a new venue, the NTC Liberty Station. At the heart of the district, the former Naval Training Center is now one of Southern California’s coolest parks, and, with its palm trees and mission style architecture, a beautiful place to experience art “al fresco.” Gaze at and discuss works of fine art from more than 100 artists outside under natural light on a warm summer evening, while enjoying gourmet food and live music from more than a dozen performers. If something catches your eye, you can learn more about it and buy it directly from the artist. For children, there are even interactive, educational activities!
Getting There -
This event was organized by the ArtWalk brand, founded by artists and committed to serving and helping participating artists to get out their work. This event will take place the weekend of August 24-25 at the NTC Liberty Station. Admission is free, and there is also lots of free parking. Drive there by turning onto Roosevelt Road from Rosecrans Street, or get an MTS bus or trolley to Old Town Trolley Station and from there the 28 bus and exit at the Roosevelt & Rosecrans stop. It’s less than 5 miles from the Bristol! Enjoy a relaxed afternoon or evening exploring the local arts scene while supporting local artists, learning about art and performance, and possibly even picking up a piece to represent your own personal style at this popular festival.
