On the hunt for October events in San Diego? You may not immediately associate San Diego with Oktoberfest, but come this October in, “America’s Finest City,” you can celebrate all things Germanic at the O.B. (Ocean Beach) Oktoberfest. Take in the sights and sounds of Ocean Beach, San Diego’s most chilled out neighborhood. Ocean Beach residents love rocking out to modern tunes and kicking back to classic brews-what better way to celebrate than with a beer festival saluting both?
It all kicks off Friday October 12 at 4:30 with a Battle of the Bands starting shortly after at 5:15. Legendary San Diego modern rock station 91X (XETRA 91.1 FM) will be broadcasting live. The station will also be sponsoring 2 for 1 drink specials in the Beer Garden, and giving out prizes throughout the evening.
The fun continues Saturday with plenty of live music, great German food, and great beer, including several brews made by some of the finest San Diego breweries. The O.B. Oktoberfest is held in Ocean Beach at the intersection of Newport Avenue and Abbott Street, adjacent to the Ocean Beach Pier. For more details, including a full event schedule, maps, and information on shuttle service, visit the O.B. Oktoberfest website at: oboktoberfest.com.
