Once a year, San Diego and Dublin have more in common than you think! On St. Patrick’s Day, thousands of spirited green-clad partiers flood the streets of the Gaslamp for a celebration that continues into the early hours of the morning. Plenty of green beer, Jameson whisky, and Irish song and dance will fuel the day-long party, which spans the length of the beautiful and historic Gaslamp Quarter.
To create a truly engulfing Irish experience, Sham ROCK features over 80,000 square feet of Astroturf, rolled out to mimic the lush landscape of the Green Isle. The concrete streets of San Diego suddenly become green grassy avenues on Saturday, March 15th! In addition, Sham ROCK 2014 will feature three stages for live music and DJs. The Field Irish Stage will rock all night long with Celtic and Irish music, from traditional foot-stomping string bands to Irish punk and hard rock outfits. Two other stages—one next to a 150-foot outdoor Irish pub—will have great San Diego and Los Angeles DJs spinning all day. The Irish River Dancers will also make a lively appearance, showing off their skills and celebrating Irish culture.
Tickets are priced at $30 for General Admission and $65 for VIP before March 5th. They will go fast! More information can be found at http://www.sandiegoshamrock.com/. All proceeds of the 19th Annual 2014 Sham ROCK benefit the Gaslamp Quarter Historical Foundation, so you can have fun while being a part of something historical and important for the city of San Diego. After the party, return to rest at the Bristol Hotel, just a couple of blocks away!
